Mounte Studio takes on a limited number of projects each year to stay closely involved in every home we build. We collaborate with homeowners and architects to create thoughtful, custom rebuilds designed for the long term.

A year after the fire, many Altadena homeowners have completed their designs and are permit-ready. If you already have an architect and your plans are approved — or close to RTI — we're ready to step in 
as your builder.

You've done the hard work of designing your home. You don't need another design studio — you need a builder who will execute your architect's vision without cutting corners, who knows Altadena's foothill conditions, and who can move when your permits clear.


We work two ways:

  • For homeowners with completed plans (or in permitting / RTI), we step in as your general contractor, coordinate engineering as needed, and build to your architect's specifications.

  • For homeowners starting from scratch, we handle architecture, interiors, and construction under one roof.

Either way, you get the same Mounte standard: limited projects per year, direct access to Miguel and the team, and construction built to last.

  • Yes. We regularly take on build-only projects where homeowners have completed their designs with an outside architect. If your plans are approved or close to Ready-to-Issue (RTI), we can review them, provide a detailed construction estimate, and coordinate any remaining engineering or permit work needed to break ground.

  • Yes. We understand that most Altadena rebuilds are being funded through a combination of insurance proceeds, savings, and construction loans. We provide transparent line-item estimates that make it easier to coordinate with your insurance adjuster, public adjuster, or lender.

  • Every project is different, but most full rebuilds in Altadena take 14 to 20 months from permit to move-in, depending on size, site conditions, and design complexity. Build-only projects with completed plans can often begin sooner.

  • Yes. We coordinate directly with licensed permit expeditors and manage the submittal and plan-check process with LA County on your behalf. We are familiar with the post-fire rebuild pathways, including the County's expedited review for fire-affected properties.

  • Both are possible. For full design-build clients, we coordinate with a trusted network of licensed architects and engineers who work under our direction. For build-only clients, we work seamlessly with your existing architect.

  • We intentionally limit ourselves to a small number of projects per year to stay closely involved in every build. Contact us to discuss current availability.

  • We're actively building across Altadena, with particular focus on the foothill neighborhoods — including areas near the Country Club, Glenrose, and the upper foothills. We also work throughout Pasadena, La Cañada Flintridge, and nearby hillside communities.
